Sky Sports: Liverpool & Besiktas in talks over transfer

After five years, Simon Mignolet’s Liverpool tenure could be up.

The Belgian arrived in 2013 from Sunderland, but in truth, has never fully won over fans – even during some of his more consistent spells.

Towards the end of last season, he lost his place to Loris Karius, and now with Alisson arrived for £66m, there’s simply no way back for the 30-year-old.

According to Sky Sports, Besiktas have made an enquiry and we expect Liverpool to try and offload the stopper permanently.

A loan deal will not especially help us considering we don’t need Mignolet to improve and are looking to recoup some funds having spent so lavishly this summer.

Mignolet is actually a decent keeper and we think he’s better than Karius, but the fact remains he’s not elite – and elite is required when coming up against our rivals who currently field the likes of David de Gea, Ederson, Hugo Lloris and Thibaut Courtois.

We hope Alisson proves to be in this same bracket, which will help us massively in our pursuit of Premier League glory.
