Journalist: Barca will launch assault for Liverpool superstar and ditch Suarez

Barcelona were recently linked to Alberto Moreno, which didn’t cause us too much worry, but we don’t have much time for the latest reports coming out of Spain…

Eduardo Inda, the editor of Ok Diario, is claiming that Barcelona’s future transfer pans revolve around getting Roberto Firmino to join the club and be a long-term replacement for Luis Suarez, who is approaching his 32nd birthday.

“It’s about Firmino, Liverpool player,” he replied, when asked about Barcelona’s transfer plans.

“I already said that Luis Suarez is seen increasingly stubborn and they are considering doing the same operation as Coutinho.

“But I guess at the end of the season, not halfway through.”

Inda also claims that Coutinho has recommended Firmino to Barca’s hierarchy, which if true, would irritate us greatly.

According to his report, Barca want to cash in on Suarez at the end of this season and bring in Firmino, who’s four years younger, as a direct replacement.

Bobby recently signed a mammoth contract extension, but as we saw with Coutinho and Barcelona, this is by no means a guarantee that the player will remain at Anfield.

It would turn our stomach to see a player as loved as Firmino head to Spain, but it’s not something we need to worry about just yet.

Maybe we should just sign turn the tables on the Catalans and bring Suarez back to Anfield instead!
