Liverpool are one of a number of teams to have been credited with an interest in Lyon sensation Tanguy Ndombele.
Dave Maddock in the Mirror has thrown our name into the hat and says we’ve been scouting the French youngster, but that Arsenal and Manchester City are also keen.
Last night, Ndombele put in a superb performance against Pep Guardiola’s City in the Champions League, as Lyon drew 2-2 with Europe’s best side right now.
21-year-old Ndombele passed the ball with precision, drove his side forward and showed a real creative spark, too.
From what we’ve seen, we think he could become a world-class operator, but Liverpool really don’t need central midfield enforcements right now.
We’re still waiting on £100m worth of talent in Fabinho and Naby Keita to come good consistently and get themselves a spot in the side – not to mention the eventual return of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Keita has all of Ndombele’s drive and vision, but we just haven’t seen much of it yet!
When he gets fit and into the side consistently, we’ll be seeing such complimentary tweets about the Guinean…
Would honestly give my right nut for Liverpool to sign Tanguy Ndombele. World beater in the making.

It will be a masterclass if Liverpool sell Fabinho & buy Ndombele. He’s been playing the way we thought Fabinho would play. I’ve got a feeling Guardiola will be onto him now after dropping a masterclass against his team the same way Mendy & Silva did for Monaco. #LYOMC
