Carra spots something smart Klopp is doing with Salah tactically

There was, as always, very, very interesting analysis from Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville on Monday Night Football last night.

The pundits discussed Liverpool being top of the Premier League, the role of Alisson, Virgil van Dijk and Mo Salah’s superb hat-trick v Bournemouth from Saturday lunchtime.

Carra noted that Salah’s positional changes over the past few months have been almost specifically down to our opponent.

Since the end of September, the only games Salah has started on the right (where he played the entirety of last season) were against Chelsea, Manchester City, Huddersfield and Arsenal!

Huddersfield is obviously the anomaly, but it’s clear that Klopp prefers to use Mo in a slightly more withdrawn position where he can perhaps get more of the ball when up against our rivals.

It’s also perhaps no coincidence that Salah hasn’t been scoring in these games – as he’s being asked to do a different role.

We don’t mind where Mo plays in all honesty, providing he’s fit and doing the business!
