Liverpool XI v Napoli: Klopp likely to field four attackers in 4-2-3-1 formation

Posted by

We think Jurgen Klopp will field Xherdan Shaqiri tonight as well as Liverpool’s first-choice front-three, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah.

Mane is fit to start after struggling the past week with a cut on his foot.

The Reds need to beat Napoli either 1-0 or by two clear goals in order to qualify for the Last 16 of the Champions League.

We reckon Fabinho and Jordan Henderson will act as a midfield double pivot, after the skipper was rested at the weekend for the Bournemouth victory – although there’s strong possibilities that Naby Keita and Gini Wijnaldum could also make the XI.

The defence practically picks itself, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson our superb fullbacks, with Virgil van Dijk partnering Joel Matip, with neither Dejan Lovren or Joe Gomez fully fit.

Obviously Alisson starts between the sticks.

Alternatively, Klopp could field a 4-3-3, stick Shaqiri on the bench and play Keita as our more attacking midfielder, as he did on Sunday.

Would this XI have enough to do the job this evening?
