Dom Solanke has undergone a medical ahead of a likely switch to Crystal Palace, reports the Mail.

The striker will spend the second half of the campaign on loan with the Eagles, with the hope of playing regular Premier League minutes.

At Liverpool this term under Jurgen Klopp, Solanke has failed to make any sort of impression, falling behind Roberto Firmino, Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi in the pecking order, playing zero minutes of competitive football all season.

While Liverpool have been flying, and our Premier League title charge is the priority, it’s not been good for Solanke’s development.

We fully back the idea of him departing to Selhurst Park, although would ideally prefer him to be playing under a more exciting football manager than Roy Hodgson.

Still, Palace lack a striker and Solanke will hopefully play games alongside Wilfried Zaha, who we regard as a phenomenally exciting attacker.

Ideally, Solanke will get minutes and score goals; setting him up for a good pre-season at Liverpool and the possibility of getting back into contention next term.
