Liverpool fans are calling for the introduction of Xherdan Shaqiri after seeing their side head into half-time 1-0 down at home to Crystal Palace.
The Premier League leaders went behind against the run of play in the 34th minute when Andros Townsend met Wilfried Zaha’s pull-back with a clinical finish beyond Alisson.
It was the former that did the hard work, beating make-shift right-back James Milner with his pace on the out-side to add the required touch of quality after his side’s quick break.
Jurgen Klopp’s men were left frustrated for much of the first half as the visitors adopted a deep defensive setup in view of catching Liverpool on the counterattack.
With Naby Keita struggling to make an impact and Sadio Mane looking uncomfortable on the right-hand side, Reds are eager to see Shaqiri enter the action…
Shocking first half 👎🏻 huge improvement needed from whole team! Keita non existent in the first half! Shaqiri needs to be brought on now!

Keita on the left never works. No idea why Klopp keeps doing it. Either play him in the centre or get Shaqiri on. #LFC

This looks a game for Shaqiri not Naby Keita at the moment. #LIVCRY

Keita has been horrible so far. Shaqiri would have been lot better. Liverpool has to step up their game in the second half. Comeon boys we can get 2 goals#LIVCRY
