Brendan Rodgers: What Liverpool cannot do in title run-in

The Northern Irishman has not worked in England since he was sacked as Liverpool boss at the end of 2015 – but has won virtually every trophy on offer domestically north of the border with the Hoops.

Leicester sacked Claude Puel a few days ago and have moved quickly to secure an exciting replacement.

Interestingly, Echo journalist Kristian Walsh has pointed out that two famous former Liverpool managers could now have a big role to play in the title race…

Rodgers’ Leicester will face Manchester City on the same weekend we play Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle!

So far this term, Roy Hodgson has beaten City – as has Rafa – so it would be nice if Rodgers could come and complete the hat-trick!

Obviously this will be irrelevant if we don’t turn our form around quickly. We’ve won just one of our past four Premier League fixtures – and need three points on Wednesday at home to Watford.

Ideally, we’ll add three more at the weekend v Everton!
