Liverpool prepare cost-effective Sturridge replacement

Daniel Sturridge looks set to leave Anfield this summer. The forward has looked out of place this season and, according to Fox Sports, has garnered some interested from Australia.

The former Chelsea man has spent six years at Liverpool, finding the back of the net 67 times in just 157 games, but it now seems he’s to be replaced by starlet Rhian Brewster.

That’s according to Times’ writer Paul Joyce – he claims that Jurgen Klopp is determined not to waste the young lad’s talents.

Brewster was handed the number 24 shirt ahead of this season which shows the boss’ confidence in him, but a season-long injury has kept the 19-year-old out of the picture.

The youngster was deemed fit enough to be included in Liverpool’s squad for the trip to Barcelona and it now seems he’s set to take Sturridge’s spot in the team for next season.

Our number 15 will go down as one of the most lethal strikers of the Premier League era. Liverpool fans who were lucky enough to see him play alongside Luis Suarez in the first half of his career at Anfield will always remember him fondly.
