Michael Edwards is a phenomenal seller: LFC could do £15m business with Napoli for out of favour defender

The only thing more impressive than Liverpool’s buying in the transfer market over the past few years has been our selling!

Not only did we secure over £140m for Coutinho – but have cashed in on Dominic Solanke, Danny Ward, Mamadou Sakho and Kevin Stewart – to name but a few – in recent years.

Much of our extravagant spending has in fact been offset by offloading deadwood for big bucks.

We expect this summer to be no different, with a multitude of players not needed in Jurgen Klopp’s first-team.

Neil Jones of Goal lists the ones for sale as Nathaniel Clyne, Rafa Camacho,Marko Grujic, Taiwo Awoniyi, Ryan Kent, Harry Wilson and Sheyi Ojo.

And according to the respected journalist, Serie A giants Napoli are considering a £15m deal for England international right-back Clyne.

The 28-year-old spent the second-half of this season on loan at Bournemouth, after dropping below world-class Trent Alexander-Arnold in the pecking order.

Klopp prefers Joe Gomez as Trent’s rotation option, so it’s definitely time to cash in on the man who arrived in the summer of 2015.

We’ll wish Clyne well and hope he does try his luck in Italy. It’s the kind of experience most English players shy away from – but we hope he takes the opportunity and thrives.
