Mo Salah makes big claim following Reds’ Champions League victory

Mo Salah says Liverpool can win the Champions League next season as well following this year’s final victory in Madrid.

The Egyptian held his nerve just a few seconds into the match to convert from the penalty spot, and while the game itself was not the best in terms of quality, the Reds got the job done, which is the important thing.

Like everyone at the club, he feels that the Champions League win will kick-start a trophy-winning era for the Reds, and that this is only the beginning.

Via the Daily Star, Salah said: “It’s the start of something. Honestly, it’s just the start for us. Of course we feel we can win it again next season.

“We play with ambition, we set targets for ourselves and the target this year was to win the Champions League and also the Premier League.

“The Premier League was just one point. That was also disappointing and you just can’t finish your season with losing this game so we did everything and won the game today.”

Thinking about next season properly will take place in a few week’s time, but for now, players and fans can simply enjoy the win. That was certainly happening during yesterday’s victory parade.

If the Reds do win the Champions League again next season, only Real Madrid will have won the competition more times, with AC Milan now only one ahead on seven.
