French starlet Bilel Hassaini looks set to sign for Liverpool after being linked with a move to Arsenal for a number of weeks.

The Reds have moved to the front of the queue as the teenager is now in a position to sign for a a new club after his contract wound up at Nancy, as per Foot Mercato.

The same report suggests that PSG’s early interest in the forward has now fallen by the wayside, and now Liverpool are ready to pounce.

Hassaini looks an exciting prospect and one who could be an ideal addition for Liverpool as Jurgen Klopp isn’t too keen on the idea of splashing the cash after huge investments last summer.

Liverpool have already signed Sepp van den Berg from PEC Zwolle for a reported £1.3million which shows that Klopp is certainly interesting in strengthening the youthful lineup at Anfield.

He only has just more than a handful of senior appearances to his name from his time at Zwolle, but, at 17-years-old, our new boy isn’t afraid of lofty expectations.

It’s just amazing. It is, for me, the biggest club in the world and it’s a dream come true. I am really excited,” he’s quoted as saying by Goal.

Longer-term, I hope I can play as much as possible here for the club. Short-term, [my target is] to be with the first team, develop myself, grow into the team and see how it goes. Long-term, I really want to be a legend here.

Surely it won’t be long before the fans have a song for the teenager if he’s able to live up to his own expectations of breaking into the first team and going on to become a legend.
