Premier League club baulk at Liverpool’s asking price for winger

Aston Villa are the most likely club to land Liverpool winger Harry Wilson if Jurgen Klopp decides he’s surplus to requirement ahead of the new season, but Newcastle are also lurking.

According to the Daily Star, the Magpies would love to add the wide man to their squad, but the Reds’ aren’t looking to sign him for a reported £20million.

The Welsh international has been enjoyed a fruitful pre-season with Liverpool as he finished off a lovely move against Borussia Dortmund with some help from Fabinho and fellow winger Ryan Kent.

As per the same Star report, Aston Villa are willing to consider putting their money where their mouth is with Sky Sports News claiming the Reds would accept £15million – with £5million to be paid in instalments.

At the age of 22, Wilson would be best looking at his options and seeing where he wants to be – he can warm the bench at Anfield, and get the odd game when Mo Salah needs a rest, or he can go be the star at a club like Villa.

Personally – I’d like to see the Welshman stay at Anfield and play a bit-part role like what we saw from Xherdan Shaqiri last season, but I’d understand if that’s not his cup of tea after starring for Derby last season.
