Liverpool loanee Harry Wilson got his first goal for Bournemouth in their 3-1 win against Aston Villa on Saturday, and in doing so continued a remarkable record.
According to Opta, it was the tenth time since the beginning of last season (when he was on loan at Derby County) that Wilson has found the net from outside the penalty area.
That’s the most of any player across the top four tiers of English football in that time.
This one did take a deflection, but Wilson won’t care a jot after opening his account in the Premier League.
The Welshman has consistently proven himself capable of the spectacular.
Reds fans were reminded of his potency from range in our final pre-season friendly of the summer when he produced a wonderstrike against Lyon.
If Eddie Howe continues to select him in the absence of David Brooks, he can expect more magic.
All in all, it looks like Wilson just doesn’t score simple goals!
