Liverpool winger Ryan Kent was mysteriously absent from the U23s’ team as they travelled to London to face a strong Chelsea side.
It’s the kind of game he’d have normally starred in, but he was nowhere to be seen without explanation, and he is fully fit to play.
It has been reported by the Record in Scotland that the winger is set to dig in his heels and try to force through a move to Rangers before the transfer window shuts.
Maybe the two stories coincide?
According to the same report, Kent is ready to down tools if that’s what it takes, to get himself more regular first team football.
The Reds would look to ask for at least £7million for the winger, and Rangers have already baulked at a similar fee for him, but this new development may mean that Liverpool have a re-think.
The Record also report that the Gers would be willing to offer the Anfield club an initial loan deal for Kent – with a view to make the transfer permanent next summer.
It’d be a shame if it come to this for the lad, but I understand why he’d want to push through a move. It’s just unfortunate that this wasn’t sorted out a few weeks ago.
