John Aldridge says there can be no doubting that Mo Salah is among the very best players in world football at the moment – saying the Egyptian has to be in the top five.
Having started the season on fire, playing particularly well against Arsenal on Saturday as he ran rings around David Luiz, Salah is full of confidence and seems to be enjoying his football.
For the Reds to do well, he needs to stay fit this season, as Aldridge says.
Writing in his Liverpool ECHO column, Aldo said: “He has to be top five in the world, he just has to be, and as a Liverpool supporter, you just cross your fingers and hope he doesn’t get injured.
“For Mo and the front three as a whole, they are so difficult to keep out the game when they are on song. Salah looks hungry for more and I think winning the European Cup has helped him and the whole team with that.”
There’s no doubt about it: the Egyptian King is among the very elite. Now a three-season wonder, he’s already scored three goals in three league games so far, and has also provided an assist.
There’s plenty more to come from him this season. If he can have a campaign like last year, and it seems already like he’s heading that way, then the Reds will have a very good chance of bringing home more silverware.
