Mo Salah has made the cut for the FIFPro World XI, having been officially shortlisted last week, alongside six other Liverpool players.
This has been leaked by respected Egyptian outlet Fil Goal, who claim the superstar is one of the eleven players to have been selected from the 55-man list.
Salah missed out in 2018, despite finishing the campaign with 44 goals, so although his 2018/19 was less impressive individually, he ended it with the Champions League after scoring in the final – so this is just reward!
We imagine the other two forwards alongside Mo to be Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Alisson and Virgil van Dijk are surely very obvious selections too – and we hope Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson have a decent chance as well.
It’s great to see our players receive such accolades, but really, it’s team glory we’re after.
We’ve won the Champions League, but that remains the only proper piece of silverware (not including the Super Cup) we’ve collected since Jurgen Klopp took over.
This team is simply too good for that to remain the case, and over the next few seasons, we want to fill the trophy cabinet with anything we can get our hands on.
