Jurgen Klopp thinks he can win both PL & CL titles with LFC this season, according to Danny Murphy

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp wants to win the Premier League and the Champions League this season, according to former Red Danny Murphy.

Murphy has told TalkSPORT that he thinks the German boss reckons he can bring both titles back to Anfield in 2020. “Winning one of the big ones again, that’s success,” he said.

I would argue that the club is progressing so well that it’s not always about the trophy to gauge success. If they got to the Champions League final again but lost, and also came second in the Premier League, that’s still an amazing season in terms of consistency.

I think Jurgen Klopp at the minute thinks he can win them both. He’s got such belief in his squad, and what’s incredible is how he gets them all playing with that intensity.

Opinion

It would be incredible if Liverpool won both titles this season – and why won’t we? Jordan Henderson lifted the Champions League trophy over his head this summer, and we already look even better this year.

Like Murphy says, it would still be brilliant if we fell in the final and finished second in the Premier League, but there is a belief in this squad now.

No longer are Liverpool the underdogs – we’re the top dogs, and we are on the hunt for even more silverware.

Anyone that scoffs at the thought of the Reds winning the League title probably also laughed when we were 3-0 down to Barcelona…and how did that end up?

We go again.
