Gary Neville makes desperate attempt to pile pressure on the Reds

Former Manchester United right-back Gary Neville says the Reds should win the Premier League this season given the position they find themselves in at the current time.

After eight matches, the Reds are eight points clear of Manchester City, who are the only side closer to the summit than the relegation zone in the current standings.

Via Sky Sports, Neville said: “I don’t think they can lose it from here.”

Does Neville genuinely believe it is over? Of course not! No one does. Even with such a gap, there is such a long way to go and anything can happen – especially with how good City can be.

The Reds will not be feeling the pressure, but Neville just wants to put more focus on Jurgen Klopp’s players because he is desperate for City to catch up – it’s not too hard to spot that.

The main aim for the Reds will be to take a substantial points lead into the showdown with City at Anfield in the middle of November. Head into that weekend with a significant buffer, and the pressure will be all on Pep Guardiola to pull something out of the bag.
