Under-fire Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says that facing the Reds next is ideal for his side despite their terrible run of form.

After spending heavily once again over the summer, including splashing out a world-record fee for a defender on Harry Maguire, the Red Devils find themselves in 12th place in the league table after eight games.

Solskjaer, though, believes that facing the Reds could be everything his side need to fire themselves into form – which is certinaly one way of looking at it.

Speaking to BBC Sport, the Norwegian said: “The Liverpool game next is the perfect one for us.”
