In a side that contains Virgil van Dijk, Frenkie de Jong and Memphis Depay, Wijnaldum is the main man at the moment, and his recent record is exceptional for a midfielder.

Many Reds fans would like to see Wijnaldum play further forward for the Reds. It has not happened often, but with Naby Keita fit, it could be something seen more frequently.

Wijnaldum is almost certain to start for the Reds against Manchester United when the Premier League is back next weekend. Hopefully he’s saved a goal or two for that match.
