Pep makes bizarre Champions League comment about Man. City

Pep Guardiola doesn’t think Manchester City are ready to win the Champions League, the competition Liverpool secured last season…

The Spaniard was talking after his side’s 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace, which saw our rivals cut the gap from eight points to six following the Premier League weekend.

“We miss a lot of chances in the final third and we have to do that to be clinical. When the people say about the Champions League being the target, we are still not ready,” he told Sky Sports.

“We create a lot and we don’t concede, but we can still improve. We are a team in the last two seasons who score a lot and create a lot. I don’t have doubt about that, but still we have to keep going and work on that.”

Jurgen Klopp’s Reds are very much ready to win in Europe, having made the Champions League Final in 2018 and winning it this year.
In fact, since the German took over, he’s never lost a two-legged European tie – which included a run to the Europa League Final in 2017 as well.
We actually think Pep’s City outfit have every possibility of winning the CL, so we’re not exactly sure what he’s getting at.
They’re an incredible side and beating them this term domestically is going to take a monumental effort.
Our Champions League campaign continues on Wednesday v Genk, when only a win will do after losing the opening game of the Group to Napoli.
