Man. City contact Liverpool in fear of another bus attack

Manchester City have made direct contact with Liverpool looking for assurances for a ‘safe passage’ to Anfield on Sunday, reports the Guardian.

Liverpool fans are rallying around to create another incredible atmosphere before the potentially title deciding Anfield clash – with a social media post that went viral encouraging supporters to: “bring your pyro[technics], pints, flags and banners” and “line the streets all the way up Anfield Road and to the ground”.

This is fairly normal practice before big games at Anfield – but City are taking the ‘threat’ seriously after some bottles of Kopparberg were thrown at their bus – injuring zero players – back in 2018 before our Champions League win.

It’s nice to see how rattled City are before the big game, in all honesty – although we obviously don’t condone throwing anything at their bus.

We do however encourage thousands to be there making as much noise as physically possible – and then even more once inside the ground!

A win will see Liverpool go nine points top, which is not an insurmountable gap – but a very large one – especially considering our fixtures look kind before Christmas and theirs look tough.
