How advanced is Liverpool’s Summerville interest? Fabrizio Romano drops latest update

Crysencio Summerville would likely tick a lot of boxes for Liverpool’s recruitment department based on the data available.

However, things are far from advanced for the Leeds United winger as things currently stand.

Fabrizio Romano now reports that the Reds are still admirers of the 22-year-old Dutchman, though it remains to be seen whether Richard Hughes and Co. will push for his signing.

“For a new signing, they are looking at that kind of player. We still don’t have a priority target. We know they like players like Summerville at Leeds but at the moment it’s not something that’s advanced in terms of contacts or negotiations,” the Guardian journalist told The Debrief podcast.

The ex-Feyenoord youth product played a key role in the Whites’ promotion-push under Daniel Farke, though fell short of the promised land with a 1-0 defeat to Southampton in the playoff final.

The Leeds star had a truly impeccable campaign in the Championship. He registered a whopping 31 goal contributions in 49 games (across all competitions) to steer the club into third-place.

Being able to play across both flanks (though primarily as a left-sided winger) and possessing Premier League experience already at 22, you’d be hard-pressed to argue against Liverpool taking a punt.

How much is Summerville worth?

Summerville’s contract is currently set to expire in the summer of 2026.

With Leeds having failed to achieve Premier League status for the next campaign, however, the expectation is that the footballer could be shipped off to cover financial costs.

GOAL, citing a report from the Daily Telegraph, suggest interested clubs would have to stump up for an asking price of around £30m.
