Balotelli embarrassed by Besiktas president’s cruel transfer comments

Nobody wants Mario Balotelli, do they?

It appeared the Italian forward was set for a summer switch to Besiktas, when his agent Mino Raiola said a deal would be completed imminently – but the Turks have left the wantaway forward with egg on his face…

“We know Raiola well,” Besiktas sporting director Erdal Torunogullari began, cited in the Echo.

“He’s even said Balotelli will go to Besiktas, but it’s not like that. We’re not even interested! Our priority is to hold on to Mario Gomez.

“This month will be decisive, everything depends on him [Gomez]. Only then will we decide what to do.”

Raiola, the outspoken super agent, told reporters yesterday that: “I’m quite sure the transfer will happen, as the president already assured me in the past that he would do everything he can to sign him,” but it appears he jumped the gun.

As it stands, Balotelli is due back with Liverpool for pre-season, but we’re desperate to offload him. The last thing Jurgen Klopp needs at Melwood is his disruptive influence, and it’s pivotal that we sell quickly.

Balotelli flopped on loan at AC Milan and his stock has fallen dramatically as a result, but with his wages enormous – Liverpool’s priority is simply getting rid rather than searching for a hefty transfer fee.

It would be in our benefit to sell to China, as we’d get a tidy sum, but it’s unlikely the 25-year-old would move to the CSL yet – despite the wealth on offer.
