Sadio Mane taken to hospital for scans on training ground injury

For goodness sake!

When will injuries stop stunting our progression?!

It’s absolutely gut wrenching.

Liverpool’s star of the Emirates Sadio Mane, who scored a wondrous debut goal in our 4-3 win v Arsenal, is in hospital this afternoon after injuring his shoulder during a training session at Melwood.

The news was confirmed by Paul Joyce of the Express.

There’s no word as to the severity of the injury yet, but you’d have to assume that no player taken to hospital on the Wednesday starts on the Saturday…

We’re heading to Burnley to take on Sean Dyche’s promoted side, but would be surprised if Mane made the squad.

The 24-year-old never got injured at Southampton, but our apparent injury curse has struck him just weeks into his competitive Liverpool career.

In his absence, Adam Lallana could play on the right as he often did last term, or perhaps Daniel Sturridge or Divock Origi could fulfil the role as well.

Now we just need to hope it’s nothing too serious.
