Liverpool have confirmed interest in ‘N’Golo Kante Mark II’: Naby Keita

This is a piece of transfer news for Liverpool fans to get genuinely excited about.

A report by reliable Liverpool correspondent Melissa Reddy in Goal claims that we’re properly interested in signing Red Bull Leipzig’s Naby Keita this summer.

The 22-year-old has been phenomenal this season for the Bundesliga’s surprise package and has earned comparisons to N’Golo Kante as a result.

Like Chelsea’s phenomenal midfielder, Keita racks up unbelievable statistics for ground covered and ball recoveries, averaging 3.29 interceptions per 90, 3.23 tackles and 3.48 dribbles. Kante, on the other hand, averages 3.6 tackles, 2.4 interceptions and 1.1 dribbles. What’s more, Keita has four goals and six assists, despite playing as a deep-lying midfielder.

Naturally, interest is huge, with Arsenal and Bayern Munich also considering his signature.

What works in our favour though is that the Guinean is looked after by the same people who sorted Sadio Mane’s transfer to Liverpool.

The Senegalese’s transition has been smooth and could potentially convince Keita and his people that Merseyside is a sensible next step.

Leipzig will charge a lofty sum, but for us, he’s worth every penny. Our midfield will look entirely more dynamic, energetic and creative with Keita included.

Fingers crossed.
