Two LFC kids named in Top 50 best U19 players on the planet

Goal have released their annual compilation of the 50 best Under-19 players in the world…

Two Reds have made the list and it’s not hard to guess who they are.

Trent Alexander-Arnold comes in at 23, while Welshman Ben Woodburn is ranked 20. (We’re not especially convinced on the rankings though, with Manchester United’s Timothy Fonsu-Mensah at 10…

Alexander-Arnold will be genuinely competing for the right-back spot with Nathaniel Clyne very shortly, while Woodburn is already in Chris Coleman’s Wales squad.

Next year, we have hopes that Rhian Brewster, our electric 17-year-old forward, could make the list, too.

Here’s the rest of the Top 10:

9) Martin Odegaard
8) Felix Passlack
7) Malaang Sarr
6) Manuel Locatelli
5) Alexander Isak
4) Alban Lafont
3) Christian Pulisic
2) Kylian Mbappe
1) Gianluigi Donnarumma

It’s interesting to see Pulisic at no.3 and Isak at no.5. Liverpool have put in significant efforts to sign both, but the talented pair are at Borussia Dortmund.

We’d adore a summer move for Mbappe, but can see the Monaco forward signing for Real Madrid.
