Reds hold advantage in chase for world’s most hyped 15-year-old…
Liverpool fans will become increasingly hopeful that their club will win the race to sign Norwegian prodigy Martin Odegaard, even though he’s claimed his love for the club will not affect his eventual transfer decision, reports the Daily Mail.
The 15-year-old, who’s already won two caps for his country due to his mesmerising form with Stromgodset this term, has come out and publicly stated his love for the Reds.
“Liverpool have always been my dream club,” Odegaard told German newspaper Sport Bild.
The likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Ajax, Manchester United and Barcelona have also been heavily linked to the teenage playmaker, and sadly for us, Odegaard reckons the fact he supports Liverpool will not come in to play when deciding his future.
“I will not let this affect my decision when I choose a new club.” he continued.
“It’s all about finding the team that is best for me and for my development. That is not necessarily Liverpool.
“I haven’t really thought about my future yet. I will end the season here and then visit a number of clubs. I have not made a final decision yet, though.
“Of course, it’s flattering when you hear that big clubs are after you, but I don’t think about it too often.”
While the maturity shown by Odegaard in these comments is very admirable, it would be difficult for most 15-year-olds to turn down their favourite club if we were to come knocking!
We can only hope this proves to be the case as the race for one of the hottest properties in world football hots up.
