Sterling has been missing from the Reds line-up for the past two matches after picking up a foot injury, but could be ready to return to the first team squad in the next few days, reports Daily Mail.

The game on Thursday against the Turkish giants could come to soon, however, and Rodgers may elect to keep the England star on the the sidelines until our key clash at the weekend with Southampton at St Mary’s.

The Premier League match is seen as such a crucial one in the fight for next season’s Champions League, because a victory would see us throw ourselves right back into the top four mix and make up ground on fourth placed Southampton…

Liverpool face a key few weeks with our squad resilience set to be tested to the limit by our continuing top four challenge, Europa League and FA Cup involvement.

Steven Gerrard and Lucas Leiva have already succumbed to injuries in midfield which may cause Rodgers to be particularly cautious with Sterling’s return.

Would you risk him against Besiktas or keep him in reserves for the trip to the south coast?
