How impressed were you with our ever-improving wonderkid?
Arsenal’s record goalscorer turned Sky Sports pundit Thierry Henry, was quick to praise Jordon Ibe, who enjoyed another impressive performance on Sunday.
Liverpool transfer rumours
The 19-year-old played again at right wing-back, and while he made some promising attacking dribbles, it was his defensive nous which most impressed two-time Premier League champion Henry.
“It was an amazing performance,” Henry said on Super Sunday. “It wasn’t the step overs and nutmegs but he showed maturity in a game like that at an early age, it’s his maturity to understand the game.
“The way he was tucking in to show he can cover his back three and the midfielders, he never gave up, he worked hard for his team-mates and that’s how you gain the respect of team-mates. That is why he is playing for Liverpool.”
Since he returned from his loan spell at Derby, Ibe has been nothing short of exceptional. He’s been in contention for the Man of the Match award in all three of his Premier League starts, and seems to have made the right wing-back spot his own for the time being.
