Luis Suarez scored 31 goals last season, but endured a slow start to life in Spain…

Reports in the Daily Mail – among others – are sensationally claiming that Manchester City are preparing a £100m bid for former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, who only moved to Barcelona in a £75m deal last summer.

The 28-year-old became a firm fans’ favourite during his three-and-a-half year spell at Anfield, where he scored 82 goals in just 133 games, making him one of the best Liverpool players of the modern era.

Despite his incredible success on Merseyside, several sources have since claimed that the player has failed to settle in Spain – scoring just ten goals in his first 24 matches, with only five of those coming in La Liga.

Of course, he had no trouble in putting City to the sword on Tuesday, scoring a brace in his side’s 2-1 win at the Etihad Stadium, bringing him firmly to the attention of the Manchester club.

Unfortunately for City, it seems incredibly implausible that Barcelona would even consider selling the Uruguayan – who despite a slow start – has started to show his jaw-dropping class in recent weeks.
