Liverpool have signed Adam Bogdan from Bolton Wanderers on a free transfer. The goalkeeper, whose contract with the Championship side expires this month, will join us at the start of July subject to a medical.

The move – which is confirmed here by our official website – sees us complete our long talked about move for the Hungarian international, who will serve as competition for our current number one stopper, Simon Mignolet.

He will also replace former number two Brad Jones, who left us at the end of the season following the expiry of his contract. The Australian spent five years at Anfield as understudy to Mignolet and Pepe Reina.

Bogdan should hopefully provide stronger competition. He’s made more than 100 appearances for Bolton since joining them in 2007 – both in the Premier League and in the Championship. He also hugely impressed against us in the FA Cup back in January when his side held us to a goalless draw at Anfield.

The 27-year-old becomes our third addition of the summer, joining Manchester City midfielder James Milner and Burnley striker Danny Ings, who are also arriving on free transfers.

Welcome Adam – best of luck for your time with us!
