Liverpool & Arsenal target’s asking price lowered to £21m

Alexandre Lacazette is a reported target of ours (via the Daily Star), but until recently he has looked somewhat out of reach. That may have all changed however, with the report suggesting Lyon have lowered their asking price to a very reasonable £21m.

He is currently in high demand, with the Star linking him to Arsenal and Manchester United as well as us. It’s understandable that so many top European clubs are after him, with his impressive 31 goals in 40 games putting him behind only Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in the scoring charts last season.

The Ligue 1 side were understandably not happy at the thought of letting their star man go, but the report suggests things have changed. Talks regarding a new contract have allegedly stalled, and so Lyon are looking to cash in on him while they have the chance.

His agent has talked up a move, insisting that huge offers have already been made.

“The offers we’ve had from abroad are very significant in terms of finances,” he said, as quoted by the Daily Star.

“Ultimatums and media pressure won’t change our demands, which OL are aware of.”

Nothing is concrete yet however, so we could still throw our hats into the ring.

Lacazette would be a phenomenal signing, and he could certainly help fire us back into the Champions League where we belong.
