Idiotic Diouf lays into Carragher, ‘the biggest turkey I’ve seen’ – ‘I hate him’

E Hadji Diouf is vile, and based on what’s happened during and after his Anfield tenure, arguably our biggest transfer mistake of the Millennium.

The Senegalese forward has once again disrespected his former team-mates Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher in a recent interview, cited here in the Echo.

Brace yourself for this one, Reds…

“Steven Gerrard is a great club player but an egotist,” he began.

“He didn’t care about Liverpool winning – all that mattered for him was getting on the scoresheet.

“The person I would least want to spend Christmas with is Jamie Carragher. I hate him.

“He was the biggest turkey I’ve seen on a pitch. I found him useless.”

The quotes are some of the most ridiculous we’ve seen from Diouf’s mouth – and that’s saying something. We’re only really publicising them because they gave us an end of year chuckle, in truth.

Why does he continually pick battles with two players who’ve done more in the game than he ever did, or was capable of? Diouf plays for Sabah FC in the Malaysian second tier. His former clubs include Doncaster Rovers. He’s a striker with 70 goals in 486 career appearances. Need we go on?

If Gerrard didn’t care about Liverpool winning, he should perhaps return the ten major honours he picked up during his career with us – but we’re pretty sure they’re the sole reason he stayed on Merseyside for 17 years.

We’re sad that Diouf and Carragher won’t be spending Christmas together next year, as it would make for the best festive television since the final ‘The Office’ special.

If anything, we’re just looking forward to ‘The Turkey’s’ response…
