Allan Rodrigues de Souza is set to move to Belgian Pro-League side Sint Truden on loan until the end of the season, Goal report.

The 18-year-old is ineligible to represent Liverpool and needs games elsewhere in Europe to eventually secure a work permit.

Allan arrived from Internacional in the summer but hasn’t been able to properly represent Liverpool yet for this reason – although he’s played a few friendlies and been involved in first-team training sessions.

Before Christmas he enjoyed a short loan spell with Finnish side SJK and helped them become champions – winning three Man of the Match awards in the progress.

Liverpool now hope that his development will continue in the tougher Belgian league. Sint Truden are struggling in 12th, five places off bottom – and soon host Anderlecht – the country’s biggest and most famous club.

This will be a great test for Allan, who Liverpool fans only really know so far from YouTube compilations. He looks a technically gifted, visionary midfielder with a wicked left-foot.

The main thing is that he gets game time at Sint Truden, stays fit, and returns to Liverpool in the summer raring to go.

We wish him all the best!
