(Image) Xabi Alonso’s subtle Bayern locker sticker proves he still loves Liverpool

Liverpool fans are still very much in love with Xabi Alonso, and this will only increase our fondness for the majestic Spaniard.

It turns out that the ageing midfield legend has a Justice For The 96 sticker in his Bayern Munich locker, and you can just about make it out in the picture below – which Liverpool fans have shared round the internet.

Alonso actually left Liverpool almost seven years ago now, a period of time in which he’s cemented a reputation as one of the most elegant central midfielders in Europe with Real Madrid and the perennial German champions.

With Real Madrid Alonso won a La Liga title, two Copa del Reys and the Champions League, while he’s on the verge of wrapping up a second Bundesliga title with Pep Guardiola’s side. In 2011 and 2012 he was voted into the FIFPro World XI, so you could easily argue he actually peaked after leaving Anfield.

Alonso is 34 now, but we’d still have him back in a heartbeat to play the deep-lying playmaker role.
