Milner says Sturridge is better in training than Aguero

We all know Daniel Sturridge is talented, but James Milner – somebody who has a right to comment – thinks he’s actually better than Sergio Aguero in training, the Echo reports.

Of course, the real challenge is being better than the Argentine superstar at the weekend, but it’s a testament to Sturridge’s raw ability that Milner – formerly of Manchester City – has commented.

“He’s probably a better trainer than Aguero,” Milner began.

“How Sergio does it sometimes I do not know!

“Studge is sharp in training, he can go both ways and score goals.

“Now obviously he just wants to stay fit, get as many games under his belt and keep scoring goals.”

Sturridge played just an hour of England’s defeat to Holland last night, which left Liverpool fans breathing a sigh of relief as the striker has been injured on international duty under Roy Hodgson on more than one occasion.

As a result, he should be fit to start the Tottenham game at the weekend, one Liverpool simply have to win to maintain our distant hopes of a top four finish.

He played a role in England’s opener, dummying for Liverpool team-mate Adam Lallana to play a slide-pass through for Kyle Walker to square for Jamie Vardy.

In total, Sturridge has seven goals this season, but he’ll look to add considerably to that tally from now until the end of the season.

Liverpool have crucial Premier League and Europa League fixtures coming up, and our chances of success in either competition will largely be defined by our ability to finish chances – something that’s so often been missing this season.
