(Video) The best of Lucas Alario, Liverpool’s potential summer striker signing

YouTube compilations are not a brilliant way of judging a player. You’ll remember that Oussama Assaidi looked incredible on the internet before proving pretty uninspiring on Premier League grass.

But with River Plate forward Lucas Alario, there isn’t much else to go on! According to the Mirror, Liverpool are currently waiting for the Argentine’s club to purchase the remaining 70% of his rights from third parties so we can sign him for £9.5m in the summer.

This backs up Raphael Honigstein’s claims in today’s Sport1, which suggested Jurgen Klopp would target a lesser known forward rather than a marquee name.

Alario has bagged crucial goals for River Plate since arriving in the middle of last year, and helped them clinch an historic Copa Libertadores as well.

He’s 5 ft.11 and can play off the shoulder or drop deeper, as evidenced by his 12 goals and five assists for the Argentine giants.

Below, you’ll his best goals for former club Colon, and his efforts this year for River.

Alario can score different types of goals, dribble and create. He looks an all-rounder and a hard-worker, but then again – so was Fabio Borini. Still, it’s nice to get a first glimpse of our potential summer signing.
