Karius threatens Mignolet with tough-talking ambitions

Loris Karius was in no mood to mince his words in an interview earlier today when he spoke about his desire to oust Mignolet from our starting eleven.

According to the Echo, the new signing from Mainz said he wanted to be our number one as soon as possible.

“Competition is just part of a big club like this. I want to become the No. 1, have success with Liverpool and play in Europe as soon as possible. Those are my goals.” he said.

The young stopper also spoke about how pleased he was to be playing in England again:

“The day before I signed the contract I was shown around the club and its surroundings, I was immediately convinced that this would be the right and the next important step in my career.”

Who do you think should start the season in goal? Is it Mignolet’s last chance in those opening three games when Karius is likely to be on international duty?
