Lallana hails teammate Sturridge as England’s biggest threat

Adam Lallana has been gushing in his praise for club teammate Daniel Sturridge – claiming that he gives England the “fear factor”.

Lallana played a full 90 minutes in England’s opening 1-1 draw with Russia, then followed that up with a further 73 minutes against Wales before being replaced by Marcus Rashford.

Sturridge has only seen 45 minutes of action so far, but has already picked up a goal and an assist.

Skrtel questions England

“He’s got so much talent, he had a couple of sighters that went over and sometimes you think we could be a bit more patient and play the extra pass,” said Lallana (via Express).

“But he doesn’t need too many chances and he showed what a vital player he is for us.

“He’s always involved in the game, he arrives at the big moments.

“It’s difficult for anyone when he’s faced a lot of injuries but that was one of the fittest I’ve seen him. He’s looking very dangerous.

“It shows how strong the squad is. Studge and Vardy come on at half-time and the opposition thinks ‘Oh, no’.”

England conclude their Group B campaign with a match against Martin Skrtel’s Slovakia on Monday. A draw would give them a place in the last 16.
