Martin Skrtel questions England’s mentality ahead of Group B showdown

Martin Skrtel has said all the pressure is on England ahead of Slovakia’s meeting with the Three Lions next Monday.

The Slovakia captain claims his team are in the mood to pull off another shock, and that England are firmly in their sights.

Slovakia lost 2-1 to Wales in their tournament opener, but a fine 2-1 win over Russia last time out – a game in which Skrtel was one of the best players on the pitch – has given them a great chance of making the last 16.

“This is a dream scenario for us,” he said (via Mirror)

“After losing our first game against Wales, we had to beat Russia – and we did everything possible to take the three points.

“Now we want to qualify for the next stage and in the final game, all of the pressure will be on England because they are the big favourites. Can they cope with the pressure? Everything will be decided on the pitch, but I do know that if we show the same heart, character and desire then we can go through.
