Liverpool could rake in gargantuan £80m sum from outgoing transfers this summer…

Liverpool could rake in £80m this summer from offloading deadwood, without damaging the first-team one jot.

Here, we’ve listed 11 players who are clearly not in Jurgen Klopp’s long-term plan, along with a fair, realistic fee we could hope to receive. We’ve been careful to make fairly low predictions, and in fact, these players could raise even more than £80m if we got lucky…

If we manage to sell these players (there’s probably a few more we could include as well…), our summer expenditure would have been covered – and some. There’ll be money for us to heavily target top targets such as Mahmoud Dahoud towards the end of the summer.

Christian Benteke – £30m

If Watford are turning down £38m for Odion Ighalo, Benteke is worth £30m. He’s young, Premier League proven and would do a job for virtually every side in the country – he just doesn’t suit Klopp’s tactics. Reports suggest we’re holding out for what we paid for him.

Jordon Ibe – £15m

It will be with a heavy heart we let Ibe go, but with Sadio Mane’s arrival, the development of Sheyi Ojo and the return of Lazar Markovic (who could also be on this list, actually), the youngster is probably surplus to next season’s requirements – as we’re without European football. If Andros Townsend is worth £13m, Ibe’s worth at least that much.

Joe Allen – £10m

Only going so cheaply because he has one year left on his contract. There’ll be plenty of suitors after his wondrous Euros, with reports suggesting Klopp’s happy to see him go.

Martin Skrtel – £5m

A fee of £5m has been all but agreed with Turkish outfit Fenerbahce, with Skrtel not rated by Klopp – who’s signed Joel Matip in his place.

Luis Alberto – £5m

Plenty of Spanish clubs would be happy to pay this for the 23-year-old, who’s done very well in La Liga over the past two seasons. In fact, £5m is an undervaluation, if anything.

Lucas Leiva – £5m

Worth more than this and would be a superb buy for countless clubs. Lucas though, like Allen, is not in Klopp’s long-term plans.

Jerome Sinclair – £4m (already agreed)

We’ve already agreed a £4m fee for the out of contract forward to join Watford. (We get a compensatory fee due to his age.)

Sergi Canos – £3m

So long as a buyback clause is inserted into any sale, we’ll be happy. The kid needs games. We should go let him blossom.

Andre Wisdom – £2m

Only 23 and English, meaning we can still get a fee for Wisdom. £2m would be nice.

Tiago Ilori – £1m

The Portuguese defender hasn’t broken through, and despite costing £7m three summers back, doesn’t possess the required ability to make it as a Liverpool centre-back. With two years left on his contract we can get some money for him.

Mario Balotelli – Free

Important to offload Balotelli’s extravagant wages off our books. We don’t need money for him, we just need the Italian out. Our best bet is the forward accepting a move to China. In this case, we would actually get a sizeable chunk as well, as CSL clubs are throwing vast sums at pretty much anything.

TOTAL POTENTIAL OUTGOINGS: £80m
