Historic giants want Balotelli in what could be ideal transfer for Mario

This is a deal we’d actively encourage Mario Balotelli to let happen, although we fear his extravagant wage demands may scupper it.

Legendary Dutch outfit Ajax, four time European Cup winners, reportedly want our controversial Italian forward, so says EuroSport.

The caveat is them getting into the Champions League, with a qualification round still to manoeuvre.

Ajax are potentially losing their star striker Arkadiusz Milik to Napoli, who need a new forward after selling Gonzalo Higuain to Napoli, so could turn to Balotelli as a direct replacement, reports ESPN.

Interestingly, Balotelli’s agent Mino Raiola actually called Napoli in regards to his client, but the Serie A side were not keen.

The Eredivisie would be the perfect competition for the striker to get his career back on track. He’d hopefully get a regular start and begin to find the back of the net much more regularly than he’s managed these past two seasons.

Ajax are not big wage payers though, and the 25-year-old is one of our highest earners (unbelievably). Hopefully, he’ll see sense and realise an opportunity to redeem himself and fulfil his talent is more important than his six figure weekly salary.
