Wijnaldum almost certainly ruled out of Man Utd clash with injury

Gini Wijnaldum is almost certain to miss our clash with Manchester United at Anfield next Monday after being injured on international duty.

The midfielder had to be taken off midway through the second half in the Netherlands’ 1-0 home defeat to France in the World Cup qualifiers on Monday night after going down while clutching his leg. He was replaced by Bas Dost (Goal).

He managed to limp off the pitch without assistance, but looked in some serious discomfort.

It would be a major blow for Klopp. Wijnaldum has been in great form since his £25 million move from Newcastle over the summer and has started all seven of our league games so far.

It’ll certainly give the boss a selection headache — Adam Lallana is already a major doubt. Emre Can now looks certain to start, but who else would you drop into the midfield if neither can make it? Marko Grujic, perhaps?
