Loris Karius dismisses importance of Manchester clubs’ big money moves

Loris Karius has dismissed the importance of the financial riches available to Man Utd and Man City.

Man Utd blew more than £160 million over the summer but have looked shaky so far in the season, while Man City are winless in six despite splashing out £50 million on John Stones alone.

By way of comparison, Liverpool made a profit over the summer after shipping out a huge amount of deadwood, including Joe Allen, Christian Benteke, Mario Balotelli, and Martin Skrtel.

“Just because they have invested more money, that does not mean that they are better than us. We are already really good and broad base. The level of expenditure does not always say something about the real strength,” said our new keeper to SportBild in Germany.

Karius, who was a £4.7 million signing from Mainz over the summer, has displaced Mignolet as the club’s number one stopper. He is looking increasingly confident with each game that goes by and is giving fans every reason to believe that’ll he will prove to be yet another astute transfer by Klopp.

He will almost certainly line-up again at Palace on Saturday as we bid to keep what would only be our second clean sheet of the season in all competitions.
