Ragnar Klavan was excellent against Middlesbrough, but downright superb against Everton in the Merseyside Derby, as these highlights prove.
The Estonian veteran was behind Lucas in the central defender pecking order, but after our two consecutive clean-sheets, he’s risen ahead of the Brazilian and is probably level with Dejan Lovren to start alongside Joel Matip.

Matip could face Liverpool ban for refusing to play for Cameroon…
The Cameroonian has missed our past two fixtures though, and will be not be automatically recalled by Jurgen Klopp – who predominantly sticks with players in form.
It’ll be mighty interesting to see who starts at centre-back versus Stoke on December 27th, anyway.
We wouldn’t be too disappointed to see Matip and Klavan. The right-foot, left-foot combination could work really well.
