Liverpool’s likely XI if Firmino is out; Sturridge to start in old-school front-three

Coutinho, Adam Lallana and Daniel Sturridge started together in various front-threes under Brendan Rodgers, but on Sunday they look likely to lead the line again versus West Ham.

It’s one of the biggest games of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool tenure as a win will put us within inches of Champions League qualification for next season.

Annoyingly, Roberto Firmino is a doubt with a muscle problem, and with Divock Origi in terrible form, Daniel Sturridge may get a long awaited recall.

“He’s a real, real option for us,” Klopp told today’s press-conference, adding that: “Roberto felt a muscle – we have to wait and give him time. Lucas will train today. Roberto will train tomorrow if possible.”

Elsewhere, the team largely picks itself… Simon Mignolet in goal, Nathaniel Clyne and James Milner at fullback, with Lovren and Matip in the middle. They’ve kept three clean-sheets in the past five.

Lucas will hold the midfield if he makes it, with Emre Can and Gini Wijnaldum either side.

It’s the front-three though that will win us the game.

We’re backing Sturridge to remind us what he’s truly capable…
