Confirmed: Premier League rival makes whopping Lacazette offer

Arsenal have jumped to the front of the queue for Lyon hitman Alexander Lacazette, it seems.

Their president Jean-Michel Aulas has confirmed that Arsene Wenger’s side have submitted a very impressive official offer for the striker.

“Lacazette was told he could leave. We now have a very nice offer from Arsenal. But for us he will not leave,” he said, reported in the Metro.

Atletico Madrid were heavy favourites for the French forward, but since their transfer ban, it remains unclear who’ll secure his services.

The player himself claimed last season that he’d only join a team that’s qualified for the Champions League, so if he were to sign for the Gunners, he’d have to accept at least a year outside the competition.

Liverpool’s top scorer last term was Coutinho, followed by Sadio Mane, which for many fans is evidence that we need a 20-goal centre-forward as a priority.

Roberto Firmino is brilliant but a poor finisher, while Daniel Sturridge’s injury history means we can’t rely on him in four competitions.
