There’s been much said about Mo Salah, since it was revealed that he’s in England to undergo his Liverpool medical ahead of a £39m move.
His 43 goals in two and a half seasons has been mentioned, as has the fact he was one of only eight players in Europe last term to reach double figures for both goals and assists.
But perhaps our favourite comment on our soon to be Egyptian winger is this one from beIN Sports’ Serie A correspondent Matteo Bonetti:
Mo Salah is a Liverpool player. Sad to see him leave Serie A. Has been wildly entertaining and keeps getting better, esp. in front of goal.

Wildly entertaining, ever-improving and scores goals…?
No wonder Jurgen Klopp seems so keen!
Ironically, Liverpool’s manager originally wanted Bayer Leverkusen’s Julian Brandt, but when the German proved unavailable, we switched our attentions to Salah and are set to make him our first marquee signing of the summer.
We think this turned out for the best. At 25, Salah is coming into his prime and is actually registering better returns in front of goal than Sadio Mane, Coutinho and Roberto Firmino.
Brandt on the other hand, while very talented, is 21 and notched just three times in 32 Bundesliga appearances last term.
This situation reminds us of when we missed out on Memphis Depay and got Firmino instead…
Sometimes, second-choice is best!
